Tests & Results
If your tests are part of ongoing routine monitoring, we would not normally expect to discuss the result with you unless we were concerned that there had been some change. In this case the practice will attempt to contact you and arrange a review with the doctor or nurse. For other tests if an abnormality were found, the doctor will either contact you directly or leave instructions for the staff to be passed on to you. If you are concerned that you have not heard about your tests please feel free to call between 11:00 and 15:30 and our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you have your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to make an appointment for follow up to discuss your results with your doctor if you are advised to do so.
